Oslo

I did not take many photographs in Oslo as it was heavy rain all the time. We were met at the ship by Sig's cousin Ann Hjort whom he had not met before although he had spoken on the phone. She took us around Oslo and we had lunch together. One of the places we visited was Vigelandsparken containing the life's work of Gustav Vigeland. We also went up to the Olympic ski jump but saw little because of the weather.

St Petersburg

On the first day we visited the Hermitage but I did not have my camera as we thought photography would be difficult. On the second day we took a coach tour which gave us a good feel for the city. It rained at the first stop but the sun soon came out and we had a lovely morning.

Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn has a beautiful old town beside a modern city with lots of glass skyscrapers. We found the people relaxed and friendly and English was widely spoken

Copenhagen, Denmark

Shortly before returning to the ship, I lost my footing on the edge of the pavement of a cobbled street and fell heavily. As well as losing my dignity I cut my knee and had to have 6 stitches put in by one of the ship's doctors!

Deck 11 had a viewing room where passengers could watch the 'goings on' on the bridge

The bridge

We tried to watch as we left St Petersburg but a blind was pulled down just before the operation started. It would have been very interesting as that was when the engine problems started.
