Alaska

We called at 4 ports in Alaska;Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Wrangell. We also sailed up a Fjord called Tracey Arm to get a good view of a glacier. It was very impressive to be onboard as the huge ship was being manoeuvred around the bends of the fjord.

Our first site of Alaska. We anchored early in the morning so when we first looked out we saw this view of Ketchkan

Greenpeace were there just before us

Huge salmon were trying to get up this waterfall
We did not see any suceed

We all got very excited at the first pieces
of ice from the glacier, known as 'calves',
appeared in the water.

The 'calves' got bigger as we got nearer to the glacier

Glacier ice is beautiful blue

Our first sight of South Sawyer Glacier

The ship was still edging its way closer to the glaciers
